Woman found murdered outside her house in Nakuru

A 52-year-old woman was found murdered and her body abandoned outside her house in Kimangu village, Rongai, Nakuru County.
A shamba boy who was at the compound is missing after the body of Joyce Waithera was found on October 27, police said.
The woman lived with the shamba boy and her son at the compound. The son, who is a teacher in the area, told police he left for work and left the mother but she was unreachable hours later when he tried to call her.
On returning back home at around 6 pm he went straight to the kitchen anticipating that fire would be lit as usual but unfortunately there were no signs and the home was dead quiet which was unusual.
He went to his house to keep his bag and while approaching his house he spotted a body covered with a pink sheet.
It was then he realized it was his mother’s body lying there with blood oozing from her mouth, nose and ears.
His younger sister was in the house without knowledge the mother had been murdered, police said.
She had come from school and did not find the mother. She went on with her chores. It was then that she was informed of the tragedy. Police said by then the domestic worker was missing.
Police who visited the scene said the body had visible injuries at the back of the head and was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
The motive of the murder was not immediately known.
And police in Barolengo area, Siaya County are investigating the discovery of a human skull in a matatu. Passengers boarding the matatu said they sighted the skull wrapped in a carrier bag together with cow horns.
The passengers alerted the matatu crew who in turn called police. It is not clear who placed the cargo on the back seat of the matatu before it was detected.
The cargo was moved to the mortuary pending an identification, autopsy and other procedures, police said adding they were yet to establish the motive of the same.
