A 37-year-old woman was killed following a violent domestic dispute at Amboseli area in Dagoretti, Nairobi, with police arresting her husband over the incident.

According to police, the incident was reported on Thursday at 4:20.

The husband claimed that he had returned home from work at around 5:00 a.m. and allegedly found an unknown man inside his house with his wife.

He further alleged that the unidentified man stabbed him on the right hand before attacking his wife, Violet Jepkemoi, leaving her with serious injuries to the ribs, head and chest.

However, investigations by officers from Muthangari Police Station and the Dagoretti Directorate of Criminal Investigations established a different account.

Police say preliminary findings indicate that Chebii himself assaulted his wife using a knife before fleeing the scene.

Neighbours rushed the injured woman to Kenyatta National Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment.

Her body was preserved at the hospital mortuary pending a post-mortem examination.

Police said the deceased sustained multiple stab wounds to the head, chest and ribs.

Crime scene personnel processed the scene, and the man was later arrested and is being held at Muthangari Police Station as investigations continue. Police are expected to arraign him once investigations are completed.

And police in Kadibo Sub-county, Kisumu County, are investigating the death of an unidentified man whose body was found floating in River Ombeyi.

The incident was reported on Thursday at about 6:50 p.m. by a local resident.

At the scene, officers found the body of an unidentified African man, believed to be about 35 years old, floating in the river. With the assistance of members of the public, the body was retrieved from the water.

Police said the deceased had no visible external injuries.

The scene was processed and other necessary procedures undertaken before the body was moved to Ahero Sub-county Hospital mortuary, where it awaits identification and a post-mortem examination.

Investigations have been launched to establish the man’s identity and the circumstances surrounding his death.
