Yamileth Mercado Bemoans ‘Unjust Decision’ That Denied Her Victory Against Fatuma Zarika

Mexican female boxer Yamileth Mercado left Nairobi “dissatisfied” following “unjust decision” of the judges that denied her victory against Fatuma Zarika Saturday.

Zarika won the bout on split-point decision to defend her WBC Super Bantam Championship at the KICC and hand Mercardo her second professional loss.

Judge Eddie Papoe of Ghana gave Mercardo 96-94 while Bena Kaloki of Kenya and Malawi’s Francis Chirwa warded Zarika 97-93 and 99-91 respectively in the ten-round fight.
