At least 10 suspects were Monday arrested in a police operation in Meru following a surge in breakings of bars in the counties of Meru, Tharaka Nithi, Embu, Laikipia and Kirinyaga by a suspected well-coordinated ring.
Police said they recovered assorted goods from the suspects in the exercise by DCIโs Crime Research detectives augmented by the local law enforcement officers in Meru.
In one of the raids and search conducted at Stinger Lounge Bar recovery of assorted alcoholic drinks, keg pumps, keg cylinders among other items was made.
In a linked operation, three vehicles belonging to three suspects were intercepted at Makutano area and upon search, a panga and metal bars were recovered inside a Toyota Probox.
Police said two knives, two pangas, two metal bars, two pairs of number plates and empty sacks were recovered in another car.
The detectives also intercepted another motor vehicle that is believed to be part of those used in the commission of the crimes.
Another search at a house resulted to the recovery of an LG TV, assorted drinks, keg pump, an infinix phone and lumix lens camera, all believed to have been stolen goods.

The manhunt for the owner of a bar that is linked into the crime is ongoing as the other suspects undergo processing ahead of their arraignment, police said.
Meanwhile, police in Mlolongo, Machakos County have mounted a search for suspects following the recovery of a Retay Falcoon loaded with five bullets.
The weapon was recovered from a house under construction within Mlolongo area.
Police say they suspect the weapon was part hidden there by a criminal on the run.
The weapon was taken for ballistic tests and analysis to establish where it has been used for criminal purposes.
A hunt on the suspected owner is ongoing, police said.
Police say they have heightened operations to address surging crimes that have been detected ahead of the holiday seasons.
Teams have been dispatched to pursue and monitor criminal ganga in various parts of the country that are believed to be responsible for the trend, police said.
