A Milimani Chief Magistrate’s Court released five suspects accused of conspiracy and preparation to commit a felony in an alleged plot targeting the home of a senior Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) officer in Kitengela on bail.

The five Charles Kipo Matata, David Ng’aa Mwangangi, Alex Mumo Kisilu, Richard Mwania Muasya, and Stella Nzuki Mweni appeared before Trial Magistrate Teresa Nyangena, where they denied all the charges.

The court heard that the accused are facing two counts conspiracy to commit a felony and preparation to commit a felony.

According to the charge sheet, the five are alleged to have conspired between March 18 and March 25, together with others not before the court, to break into the home of George Okumu Opondo at Acacia Paradise Estate in Kitengela Town.

In the second count, the prosecution told the court that on March 25, the five were allegedly found armed with what investigators described as dangerous weapons, including a crowbar, claw hammer, USA Suber knife, and pliers, in circumstances suggesting they intended to commit the offence of housebreaking.

The court released each of the accused on a cash bail of Sh500,000 or an alternative bond of Sh1 million.

The matter will be mentioned on April 21, 2026 for pre trial purposes.
