    “$100 laptop” Headed to East Africa Courtesy of UN and EAC

    The OLPC (one laptop per child) group and EAC are partnering to introduce the good for nothing laptop in East AFrica. The program is said to be sponsored by a UN body which is not clear. Their target is to inroduce or deliver more than 30 Million laptops within 5 years.

    The machines sells for USD 200 and OLPC and EAC plans to find donors to fund the project. The EAC is planning to contact the White House with the hope that President Obama would vouch for them to get the fundings for the laptops.

    Rwanda has had a long trials for the same and is reporting benefits to opening up kids to the world.
