The government has shortlisted 26 candidates for the positions of members of the Media Council of Kenya.
This comes after ICT Cabinet Secretary William Kabogo declared four vacancies at the council in July.
According to a public notice issued by the Ministry of Information, Communications, and the Digital Economy on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, a total of 211 people applied for the positions, out of which 26 were selected for interviews.
The shortlisted include Virginia Wangari Ndungu, Ibrahim Mutwiri Kirimi, Osii A. Caroline, David Kiplagat Kimeli, Moses Kipkemoi Kiyeng, Risper Awuor Olick, Kinoti Gituma, Dr. Kemunto Nyabuti Damaris, Washington Opiyo Sati, Barbara M’mbaka Imbahala, CPA Enock Nyanchoga Monari, Delilah Kadzo Ngala, Judith Wambura, Martin Mutua, Fatuma Sanbur, and FCPA Edwin Makori.
Other shortlisted candidates are Dr. Abduba Mollu Ido, Abdullahi Hassan Maalim, Dr. Janerose Kaithi Kibaara, Simmy M. Marwa, Mary Nasieku Yiapan, Samson Owino, Kosgei Kemboi Alvin, Jemima Kodero, Steve Bakari Apot, and Ephraim Percy Kenyanito.
The interviews will take place from November 19 to 21 at the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) along Murang’a Road in Ngara, Nairobi.
Candidates have been asked to bring their original national ID or passport, academic and professional certificates, testimonials, and clearance documents from the Kenya Revenue Authority, the Higher Education Loans Board, the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
