There are credible reports that 6 people died at Musalia Mudavadi’s residence in Nairobi which police is trying to blame on some mysterious herb.
According to worried family members of people who have been working at Musalia Mudavadi’s residence, the deaths have confounded them as Mudavadi’s family has tried all it can to hide the information from them.

It took some family members who couldn’t reach their loved ones to go to Mudavadi’s home and ask what was wrong. Police officers guarding the home refused them entry but directed them to check at City Mortuary and Umash Funeral home.
Six people including a driver and a gardener DIED yesterday at Musalia Mudavadi’s Karen Home. Media silent. Police have cordoned off Musalia’s house in Karen, dumped the bodies at Umash funeral home and chased away the family members. All going on, no word from the media.

According to sources with access to this information, they were informed that the 6 died after boiling and drinking some herb which remains mysterious. They are said to have started feeling discomfort and all died at different intervals.
Mudavadi is said to be out of the country and unreachable on phone while other family members of his family have remained mum over the issue.
Finally Musalia Mudavadi has now admitted to the deaths though disputing the figures. We have confirmed from police and mortuary handlers that six people died at Mudavadi’s home.
On Thursday, 7 workers on a construction project in which I’ve partnered drunk an unknown concoction. Sadly 3 lost their lives but 4 have been discharged. The matter has been reported to the police for further investigation.

It’s sad that Mudavadi’s family tried to hide the deaths since they occurred more than 48 hours ago but no one attempted to reach out to the families of the deceased. Some of the dead were contractors whose employers were also not informed.
According to the Amani National Congress (ANC) secretary general Barrack Muluka, two men at the construction site identified as Edmond Ekesa and Geoffrey Mutai arrived with a concoction of some sort which they administered upon themselves together with others willingly.
This was around 1 pm, Thursday. The effects of the substance were instant and adverse. Those who partook of the substance are said to have immediately complained of abdominal pains and were rushed to the hospital by those present.
“It is regrettable that casualties have since been reported. Four survivals and discharges from hospital have also been reported. Geoffrey Mutai is reported to have passed on at the Karen Hospital, Mr. Edmond Ekesa succumbed at a hospital called St. Odillia’ s, in Karen. One Nicholas, a driver, passed on at St. Mary’ s Hospital in Lang’ata,” Muluka said.
Another four individuals; Edwin Kivale, Lewis Otieno, Hilary Tunoi and a Mr Patrick who went to St Mary’s Hospital and afterwards to Kenyatta Hospital have since been treated and discharged.
Police have in their possession remnants of the substances that the people administered upon themselves, Muluka added.
Mudavadi who is still out of the country has condoled with the bereaved families and wishes to “lend whatever support is possible, to alleviate the emotional, moral and other associated pains and challenges to the affected families in the rest of the processes.”
