President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto are yet to make public statements, or send condolences, after the dastardly murder of IEBC ICT Manager Chris Msando. This is in contrast to top NASA leaders who yesterday strongly condemned the murder, calling on the government to come clean on it.

The heinous act has gripped the country, with various groups including the diplomatic community demanding expeditious investigations to bring the killers to book. The US and the UK have offered to assist unravel the murders, offers the government is said to have rejected.

The silence of the president and his deputy adds to speculations and accusations that Msando was killed by the state in an effort to bungle the technological aspects of the coming election, which the former IEBC official had dedicated nearly all his energies on.

A statement from Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju urged the country to avoid speculation and let the police do their work. Tuju condemned the murder.

Inspector of Police Joseph Boinett said the murder is a crime of ‘grave proportions’ and announced that a team of top homicide detectives are investigating the matter.
