Charity Ngilu has declined the 6 million set aside for her inauguration. She instead said that all that was needed was a bible and a venue which could not amount to six million shillings

The Kitui Governor elect said that the county commissioner Boaz Cherutich should be sensitive of the poor in all of their actions.

She also sought for reports on the state of boreholes in the county during her first meeting after her election.

She suggested that the money should be channeled to projects that were meant to solve the scarcity of water in the county.

Ms.Ngilu will be sworn in on August 22 at the Muslim Academy grounds.

This follows Nairobi Governor elect rejection of the same use of 25 million for his inauguration. Mike Sonko directed that the funds be used to pay county workers instead.

He ordered the Chief Finance Officer to pay county workers with the said money in two days.
