nation media groupNation Media Group (NMG) has rehired Former Editorial Director Wangethi Mwangi.

According to reports, the media house wants to revive its editorial output to increase revenue after years of seeing its revenues decline due to a decrease in advertising by the government and major corporates.

Wangethi, who left the media house roughly 10 years ago, has been chosen as the non-executive director and will be playing an advisory role.

NMG has been under a lot of scrutiny following its coverage of the ongoing presidential elections.

Their coverage of the Supreme Court’s decision raised several questions after they released a story headline alluding that the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) had been let off the hook when in fact a majority of the Supreme Court judges based their decision on irregularities and illegalities.

Wangethi, who is an appointed member of the Media Complaints Commission (MCC) will have quite a lot on his hands as he tries to help the media house increase its profits.
