Voting at Daraja Mbili primary school in Kitutu Chache was delayed as the KIEMs kits failed to work. voters who had lined up left in protest saying that they had other activities to do.
The by election was slated for today after the demise of the Jubilee party aspirant Leonard Gwaro Mwamba.The IEBC postponed the election in the constituency which has about 59017 voters in the all the five wards.
The Kitutu Chache seat is contested by current MP Richard Onyonka under a Ford Kenya ticket,Samuuel Omwando running on an ODM ticket and Jubilee Party’s Antony Kibagendi. This would be third and final term of the the current MP.

There was confusion about where the support of NASA leader Raila Odinga’s allegiance lied,Moses Wetangula had earlier started that the coalition had agreed to stand behind Mr. Onyonka but Bob Njagi , ODM deputy director of elections said that Mr. Odinga had endorsed Mr. Omwando.
The county government however chose to distance themselves from this by election.Jubilee party Antony Kibagendi might be a beneficiary of the split vote between the two NASA coalition candidates.
