The Nairobi City County Government announced a salary delay for July 2026 occasioned by what it termed as a late approval and uploading of the County Budget.
The Head of County Public Service Godfrey Akumali said that the delay significantly affected the processing and release of funds.
He made the revelations in a communiqué on Monday.
“Management sincerely regrets the inconvenience and challenges that this situation may cause and wishes to assure all staff that the matter is receiving the highest priority,” the statement read in part.
He maintained that the release of funds is being expeditiously processed and staff members have been urged to remain patient and remain dutiful to their responsibilities.
“We recognize that this delay may occasion financial hardship to employees and their families,” Akumali added.
“We therefore appeal to all staff to remain patient, understanding, and committed to the continued discharge of their duties as the County Government works diligently to resolve the matter.”
A number of county staff had complained their salaries had delayed without an explanation.
They claimed the recent changes in the governor Sakaja government had contributed to the mess.
