boycott, teachersTeachers will be badly hit if the current economic boycott crisis persists, the Kenya Union of Post Primary teachers (Kuppet) has warned.

Speaking to the press during the annual General Meeting at Lake Junction in Migori County, the Union secretary general Akello Misori told teachers to forget any pay hike soon if some of the largest revenue streams of the state are crippled by the ongoing boycott.

“How will we get the money if the political leadership cannot sober up and reconcile their thought with the existing reality,’’ he posed.

While recognizing that each and every Kenyan have the democratic right to political association, Misori said the Union wants both leadership of Jubilee and NASA to embark on consensus democracy and build it with a rational mind to resolve the rising political standoff.
