    Sponsors of the famous Luo Festival that will be taking place from the 25th to the 26th November have been warned against carrion out the event.

    A section of Luo influencers led by former Prime Minister’s Aide Silas Jakakimba claim there is nothing to celebrate in Luo Nyanza at the moment.

    On his twitter handle , he wrote;

    Heard there's a 'LUO FESTIVAL' by Royal Media. Please don't test our ANGER. Sitop it!#SupremeJudgement

    — SILAS CHEPKERES JAKAKIMBA (@silasjakakimba) November 20, 2017

    “The government wants to bring together Luos to drink and engage in sexual activities at this time when many of us have been killed?” he posed.

    He added that with the Supreme Court ruling that uphold Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election, the community had nothing to celebrate for at least a month.

    He poised that the timing was off and asked that it be postponed to at least December. His sentiment were shared by many Luos on social media who concurred that the festival was not in any meant to help the community adding that the timing was wrong.

    The festival was set to bring on board celebrated Luo artist and comedians like Hot 96’s Jalang’o, John Junior, Erick Omondi amongst others and was set to take place at the Tom Mboya Labour college with VIP tickets going for Sh1000.

    Royal Media’s Ramogi FM have since distanced themselves from the festival saying they were not the sponsors but just carried an advert for the official sponsors.

    Wakia wach #LuoFestival ma Kisumo kata kamoro amora. Wan onge budho mawabago kata mawachano sani. Maa ok saa ma jii nyalo betie gi moor
