    11 Dead in Grisly Accident Along Kisumu-Nairobi Road

    11 people have died after a bus belonging to the Super Metro Sacco rammed into a lorry along the Kisumu-Nairobi Road.

    The grisly accident happened at Ahero in the wee hours of Monday.

    While confirming the incident, Nyanza Regional Traffic Enforcement Officer Allan Mwangi noted that dozens of other passengers were receiving treatment at Ahero Sub-county Hospital and others at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH).

    The deceased include two women, eight men and a minor. A total of 53 passengers are nursing injuries.

    The bus, which was heading towards Nairobi, is said to have been attempting to overtake when it collided with an oncoming lorry killing 11 on the spot.

    Both vehicles have since been towed to Ahero police station.
