Details On Why ODM Ditched Memusi And Picked Wanga For Parliamentary Service Commission

On Wednesday, NASA submitted names of Kajiado Central MP Elijah Memusi, Vihiga Senator George Khaniri and Malindi MP Aisha Juma for the Parliamentary  Service Commission.

However, the list was withdrawn under unclear circumstances and Memusi’s name replaced with Homa bay Women Rep Glady’s Wanga who served in the commission in the last Parliament.

The move has brewed fresh disquiet in Nasa – read- ODM with Jubilee led by Majority leader in the National Assembly Aden Duale vowing to reject the new list that now has Wanga, Khaniri and Juma citing that the three have “unbecoming conduct and unfit to be in that commission.”

A reliable source privy to the details told Kahawa Tungu that the Homa bay Women rep is undergoing health issues that allegedly require a lot of money and that she presented her case to party leaders asking that she be allowed back into the commission so that she can access better health care using the perks that come with being a commioner.

The feisty politician who has been conspicuously on the fore front of NASA events preceding the August 8th general election (led the team that spearheaded the six piece gospel in Nyanza) and those that followed did not need much to convince top party honchos as apart from her illness, she has been very actively involved in coalition matters.

However, with Jubilee vowing to dismiss the new list that has Wanga’s name claiming “a person serving in the commission should be beyond reproach and that her (Wanga) behavior in the last parliament has not been in line with the position,” ODM is left with a headache on whether to give back Memusi’s name, pick another or insist on Wanga.
