The police arrested Blogger, Cyprian Nyakundi’s relatives, took them to Kamukunji Police Station and then moved them to an unknown location, Kahawa Tungu has learnt.
At least 20 police officers are said to have stormed Nyakundi’s home between 10 and 12pm and taken into custody five of his relatives who they accused of stealing his car.
But the blogger had apparently given the car to his brother before it was taken to the CID Headquarters.
Nyakundi has been on the run after he was accused of defaming CS Fred Matiang’i. He named a ‘Vocal minister in an illicit affair with choir girl’ as the aforementioned CS.
According to an article published by the Standard, a ‘vocal and no-nonsense’ CS was in a spicy relationship with a choir girl in a certain church.
Matiang’i after being named by the blogger sought for an apology from the daily and a retraction of the said piece.
The controversial blogger accused Matiang’i of trying to silence him by having at least 10 officers go after him on Wednesday last week.
he said that the officers stormed a ‘residential area where his family resides in a convoy of three cars.’
One of the vehicles was: REG No. KBZ 921C.
Kenyans are an agitated lot and are seeking to have his family members released from custody for crimes that they did not commit.
Using the hashtag, #FreeNyakundiKins, Kenyans are trying to get justice for the blogger’s relatives.
