Cyprian Nyakundi has moved to court to apply for anticipatory bail pending arrest. He has however been ordered to appear at the Directorate of Criminal Investigation offices in Kiambu for processing.

The blogger has been ordered to also appear before a magistrate court on February 1 in order to take plea. The order also indicated that Nyakundi will not be arrested as his anticipatory bail had already been granted. The anticipatory bail was set at Sh100,000.

The self proclaimed defender of the ‘boy child’ is a man on the run after the court issued a warrant of arrest against him. The blogger has been in hiding claiming that interior cabinet secretary was after him. He also posted what appeared to be nude pictures of newly nominated Lands cabinet Secretary Faridah Karoney.

Nyakundi has been charged with publishing of obscene information in electronic form contravening section 84D of the Kenya information and communication of 2009.

The court had on January 29 issued a warrant of arrest against Nyakundi. There were claims that the police had arrested Cyprian Nyakundi’s relatives in order to derive information of his whereabouts from them.

Last week Nyakundi said that police had raided  his uncles house looking for him.
