Moiben MP, Silas Tiren has expressed fear after the government allegedly set up Nandi Hills MP, Afred Keter.

Keter was arrested at the Central Bank alongside two Desai Industries executives; Madat Chatur and Arthur Sakwa trading in fake treasury bills worth Sh633 million.

The Nandi Hills MP was only there to assist the two before they were apprehended by Banking Fraud Investigation Unit detectives then taken to the DCI headquarters at the Central Bank.

What came is as a surprise is that the media was already at the scene when the nabbing happened.

Tiren says that the government is after those legislators who defy orders from the executive, adding that there is more than meets the eye in his counterpart’s arrest.

“If the government will be picking us one after another, how then will we do our job which is to represent our people in parliament,” he posed.

He also noted that the arrest came at a peculiar time when Keter had gone against the party’s wishes to step down as the Labour and Social Welfare Committee chairperson.

The Jubilee party had in December de-whipped Tiren, Keter, Kangogo Bowen.

The Moiben legislator also wants the whereabouts of Keter made known by the state.
