    Court Upholds Election Of Langata MP Nixon Korir

    The court has upheld the election of Langata member of parliament Nixon Korir and oredered the petitioner to pay costs of the suit amounting to Sh 5 million.

    The court said that the evidence presented was inadequate to warrant her to nullify the election. the petition was filed by Oscar Omoke who was the ODM candidate in the August 8 election.

    “The petitioner failed to prove his allegations of election irregularities ranging from intimidation of his agents, misuse of public resources and alterations in forms 35A,” Justice Njuguna said in her ruling

    The judge had earlier order for a vote recount in six polling stations to detrmine the number of valid and spoilt votes.

    There was drama  at the court after the supporters overwhelmed the small court room for the reading of the ruling.

    Nixon Korir had won the August election under the Jubilee party defeating Oscar Omoke of ODM.
