Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua Thursday called out President William Ruto’s administration for using state services to settle personal scores following his recent remarks against the incumbent government.

Speaking during the launch of Martha Karua’s Peoples Liberation Party (PLP), the former DP claimed that Ruto’s henchmen felt threatened after he warned them to refrain from removing Chief Justice Martha Koome from office.

During a tour in Meru County, Gachagua claimed that Ruto had launched a scheme to remove Koome from office for declining to bow to political pressure.

Ruto has, however, not addressed the matter publicly.

He said Ruto’s aides hatched a scheme to arrest him for his defiance. Declining to bow to pressure, the former DP promised to continue fighting until Kenya reached the proverbial promised land.
