Mikiah has one known sibling, a younger sister named Mikiaya.

While detailed public information about Mikiaya or any additional siblings is limited, it’s clear that family is an important part of Mikiah’s life.

    Career

Harrigan’s basketball career began to take shape during her high school years in Pembroke Pines, Florida, where she led her team to four consecutive district championships.

Her standout performance earned her the 2016 8A Florida Player of the Year title from the Florida Basketball Coaches Association (FBCA), along with two-time All-State honors.

Ranked as the No. 12 forward in her class, she caught the attention of college recruiters and chose to join the South Carolina Gamecocks.

At South Carolina, Herbert Harrigan’s four-year tenure was nothing short of impressive.

She contributed to the team’s 2017 NCAA National Championship as a freshman and helped secure appearances in the 2018 Elite Eight and 2019 Sweet 16.

The Gamecocks also clinched two SEC regular-season titles (2017, 2020) and three SEC Tournament crowns (2017, 2018, 2020) during her time there.

Over her college career, the team never finished lower than 16th nationally, with three top-10 rankings, including a No. 1 finish in 2020.

Harrigan became one of only three Gamecocks—alongside Alaina Coates and A’ja Wilson—to amass over 1,000 points and 200 blocks, finishing second in program history for total blocks.

Her senior year (2019-20) was a breakout season, as she averaged 13.1 points and 5.6 rebounds per game, shooting 50.6% from the field and an impressive 43.5% from three-point range.

She was the team’s leading scorer that year, a testament to her growth as an offensive threat.

Selected sixth overall by the Minnesota Lynx in the 2020 WNBA Draft, Harrigan began her professional journey with promise, appearing in 21 games during her rookie season and averaging 3.8 points per game.

Her career has since seen her play for multiple teams, including the Seattle Storm, Connecticut Sun (training camp), and now the Phoenix Mercury, where she made the final roster in 2024.

Internationally, she has competed with Kayseri Basketbol (Turkey), the London Lions (Britain), Galatasaray (Turkey), and CB Avenida (Spain), showcasing her versatility and global appeal.

Her college accolades include the 2017 NCAA National Championship, where she was a key contributor as a freshman.

She earned the SEC Tournament MVP title in 2020, capping her senior year with a dominant performance.

She was also named to the All-SEC Second Team in 2020, recognized for her stellar senior season.

Her postseason prowess was further highlighted by two selections to the SEC All-Tournament Team.

Additionally, she finished second in South Carolina history for career blocks, a testament to her defensive dominance.

In high school, she earned the 2016 8A Florida Player of the Year award from the FBCA and was a two-time FBCA All-State selection, nodding to her consistency and skill.

While her professional career is still unfolding, her selection as the sixth overall pick in the 2020 WNBA Draft marks a significant milestone, and her international stints further underscore her growing reputation.
