Police have arrested three people suspected of assaulting a woman during a burial ceremony, an incident captured in a viral social media video.

National Police Service (NPS) spokesperson Muchiri Nyaga confirmed the arrests on Monday, saying they were made following investigations into the disturbing footage.

“The National Police Service confirms that the incident occurred on Friday, March 21, 2025, in Kiambere, Mwonosiri Sublocation, Nyamira County. The victim has since been located, and three suspects have been arrested,” Nyaga said.

The suspects remain in custody as they await processing and arraignment.

“We thank the public for providing crucial information that led to these arrests,” Nyaga added.
