    Ashley Park, born on June 6, 1991, in Glendale, California, is a celebrated American actress, singer and dancer of Korean descent.

    Raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan, by her parents Sara and Andrew Park, Ashley discovered her passion for the performing arts at a young age.

    At three, she began dance classes at Oceanside Dance Academy, followed by piano lessons at five.

    Her love for theater blossomed through community productions, and despite a life-altering leukemia diagnosis at 15, she emerged stronger, channeling her experiences into a thriving career.

    Ashley launched her professional journey in 2009 with a role in Miss Saigon at Music Theatre Wichita, earning her Equity card soon after.

    Her Broadway debut came in 2014 with Mamma Mia! at the Broadhurst Theatre, followed by a breakout leading role as Tuptim in the 2015 revival of The King and I.

    Her portrayal of Gretchen Wieners in the 2018 Broadway musical Mean Girls, penned by Tina Fey, catapulted her to prominence, earning critical acclaim.

    Ashley transitioned seamlessly to screen, captivating audiences as Mindy Chen in Emily in Paris since 2020.

    She has also starred in films like Joy Ride (2023) and appeared in series such as Beef and Only Murders in the Building, showcasing her range across theater, television, and film.

    Beyond acting, Ashley’s musical talents have shone in roles like the late Ashley in Girls5eva, and she’s ventured into fashion with collaborations like her Skechers sneaker line, Street Glam.

    Accolades

    Ashley’s talent has not gone unnoticed, earning her a slew of prestigious nominations and awards.

    Her role in The King and I garnered a Grammy nomination for Best Musical Theater Album in 2016, reflecting her contribution to the cast recording.

    In 2018, her standout performance in Mean Girls secured a Tony Award nomination for Best Actress in a Featured Role in a Musical, alongside a Theatre World Award.

    That same year, she won a Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Musical for her off-Broadway turn as MwE in KPOP.

    Her work in Emily in Paris earned her a Critics’ Choice Award nomination, and in 2020, she shared a SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.

    Additionally, Ashley received the Cancer Support Community’s Marin Mazzie Award for Empowerment in 2018, honoring her inspiring journey as a cancer survivor.
