Israel Broussard is an American actor known for his versatile performances across a variety of film genres, from romantic comedies to horror thrillers.
Born Isaiah Israel Broussard on August 22, 1994, in Gulfport, Mississippi, he grew up in the small town of Saucier.
His early life was shaped by the loss of his biological father, Lawrence Clayton Adams, who passed away when Israel was just four years old.
Following this tragedy, his mother, Angela Clapp, remarried Gil Broussard, a computer programmer who later adopted Israel and his older sister.
Broussard’s passion for acting emerged during his teenage years, leading him to pursue a career in Hollywood after moving to Los Angeles at the age of 16.
Siblings
Israel comes from a blended family with a mix of siblings from his biological and adoptive parents.
He has an older sister, Aubrey, who was also adopted by his stepfather, Gil Broussard.
Aubrey shares a close bond with Israel, and her initial interest in acting inadvertently sparked his own journey into the industry when they participated in theater together.
Additionally, Israel has three older sisters from his biological father—Bethany Wiegel, Tiffany Wiegel, and Aubrey Allena—and a younger half-brother, Keller John, from his mother’s remarriage to Gil.
Growing up in a large family, Broussard has often credited his siblings with providing a supportive environment that encouraged his creative pursuits.

Career
Broussard’s acting career began with a small but meaningful role as Percy in a 2006 Biloxi Little Theater production of The Miracle Worker.
This experience ignited his love for performing, and by 2008, he was discovered by Hollywood scouts at an event, signing with Abrams Artists Agency.
His professional debut came in 2010 with a supporting role as Garrett Einbinder in Rob Reiner’s coming-of-age film Flipped, followed by a part in the comedy The Chaperone (2011).
However, it was his breakout role as Marc Hall in Sofia Coppola’s 2013 crime drama The Bling Ring that put him on the map.
Playing a conflicted teenager involved in real-life celebrity burglaries, Broussard earned praise for his nuanced performance alongside stars like Emma Watson.
From there, his career gained momentum. He showcased his range in films like the Lifetime drama Perfect High (2015), the thriller H8RZ (2015), and the comedy Good Kids (2016).
In 2017, he starred as Carter Davis in the hit slasher film Happy Death Day, a role he reprised in the 2019 sequel Happy Death Day 2U.
His portrayal of the supportive and quick-witted Carter won over audiences and solidified his status as a leading man.
In 2018, Broussard took on two major projects: the sci-fi thriller Extinction and the Netflix romantic comedy To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, where he played the lovable Josh Sanderson opposite Lana Condor.
His most recent notable role came in the 2021 psychological thriller Fear of Rain, further demonstrating his ability to tackle complex characters.
