Finding the IP address of your printer is important when you want to connect it to a network, troubleshoot a connection issue, or install the printer on another device. The IP address is like the printer’s home address on your network. There are several ways to find it, depending on the type of printer and device you are using. Here is how to find printer IP address.

    1. Using the Printer’s Control Panel

Many modern printers have a display screen:

    • Turn on your printer and navigate to the Settings, Network, or Wireless Settings menu.
    • Look for options like Network Setup, Network Configuration, or Wi-Fi Status.
    • Select View IP Address, TCP/IP, or Network Configuration Page.
    • The IP address will usually appear on the screen. It looks something like: 192.168.1.5.

If your printer allows, you can also print a Network Configuration Page that shows the IP address and other network details.

    1. On a Windows Computer

If your printer is connected to your PC or network:

    • Click Start, then go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
    • Click your printer’s name and select Manage.
    • Choose Printer Properties.
    • In the new window, go to the Ports tab.
    • Highlight the port with a checkmark. If it says Standard TCP/IP Port, the IP address is often shown in the Printer Name or IP Address column.
    1. On a Mac

If you’re using a Mac computer:

    • Click the Apple menu and choose System Settings or System Preferences.
    • Select Printers & Scanners.
    • Click on your printer’s name in the list.
    • You will see the printer’s IP address displayed under Location or Options & Supplies, depending on your macOS version.
    1. From Your Wi-Fi Router

If your printer is connected to your Wi-Fi network:

    • Open a web browser and log into your router using its IP address (check the label on your router or manual).
    • Go to the section that shows connected devices or DHCP client list.
    • Find your printer’s name or brand in the list. The IP address will be displayed next to it.
