Detectives are investigating the murder of a woman aged 18 whose body was found in their house in Mwiki area, Nairobi.

Police said the deceased identified as Abigael Winner Wanjiku was brutally murdered by unknown people in her mother’s house on Thursday June 19.

The body was found lying naked in a pool of blood after the murder. Her skull was broken on the forehead, police said.

The body had five stab wounds in the stomach, a cut in the neck, and ear. Police recovered a knife that is believed to have been used in the murder.

The motive of the incident is yet to be established. She was alone at the time of the attack and murder.

Elsewhere, a 67-year-old man was found dead on a farm in Makoroni village, Chonyi, Kilifi County. The lifeless body of Francis Kenga Jambo was found lying in a pool of blood on a tilled farm with cuts on the back, hand and head.

The body lay near his house where he lived alone on Thursday June 19. Police said he was attacked and killed by an unknown number of people who dragged his body to the scene where it was found.

His relatives linked the death to a land dispute the man had with some locals in the area. A blood-stained axe and sandals he had were found at the scene, police said.

Police said they arrested three suspects in connection with the murder. The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy.

Such murder incidents have been on the rise in the area and most of them are linked to land disputes. Police say most of the cases are pending in courts while others are yet to be solved.

In Abosi ‘B’ village, Sotik, Bomet County, one Paul Kipkemoi, 53 was killed in an incident. According to police, his body had visible injuries inflicted on the head and marks at the neck showing he was strangled.

It is believed he was killed elsewhere and dumped at the scene, police said. The body was picked up to the mortuary pending autopsy and investigations.
