A nine-year-old boy was found murdered and his body abandoned at their compound in a village in Dudi, Kakamega County.

Police said the boy had been assaulted by a man known to the home on Saturday and succumbed to the injuries in Mudowera village.

The deceased had visible injuries on the back and was strangled.

Police traced and arrested the suspect for grilling and arraignment as the body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy.

Meanwhile, police in Yala, Siaya are investigating an incident where a Ugandan woman died after complaining of stomach pain.

The woman had taken her supper before she complained of pain and collapsed. She died minutes later. Police collected samples of the food she ate for analysis as part of the probe into the death.

And a man died in the hospital after he had been assaulted by an assailant known to him in Maara, Tharaka County.

Police said Kelvin Karani was assaulted on July 13 in the area and taken to hospital, where he succumbed six days later.

Police said they were looking for the suspected assailant for grilling and possible arraignment.

The body was preserved at a local mortuary pending autopsy and other procedures.

Elsewhere in Sulwe village, Siaya County, a man was stoned to death on claim he is a thief in the town.

The police said the suspect identified as Hilary Odhiambo, 45 was lynched after he had been flushed from his house in a dramatic event.

Police arrived at the scene long after he had died on Saturday, July 19.

The body was moved to the mortuary as police condemned the incident saying they are investigating it to take action.

Cases of mob lynching have been on the rise amid calls to address the trend.

Police discourage mob lynching and want suspects be surrendered to authorities for action.
