MTN rewards its customers for staying connected through the MTN Rewards or Y’ello Points program. Every time you make calls, buy data, or recharge airtime, you earn loyalty points that can be redeemed for airtime, data bundles, and other special offers. Knowing how to check your loyalty points on MTN helps you keep track of your rewards and enjoy the benefits you’ve earned.

Here’s a simple guide on how to check your MTN loyalty points.

    1. Check Loyalty Points Using the USSD Code

The quickest and easiest way to check your loyalty points is by using a USSD code on your phone.

    1. Go to your phone’s dial pad.
    2. Dial *135# and press the call button.
    3. From the menu that appears, select “MTN Rewards” or “Y’ello Points.”
    4. Choose the option to “Check Points Balance.”

Within a few seconds, you’ll receive a message showing your current loyalty points balance and any available offers you can redeem.

    1. Check Points via the MTN App

Another convenient method is through the MyMTN App, which gives you a full view of your account activity.

    1. Download and install the MyMTN App from Google Play or the App Store.
    2. Open the app and log in using your MTN number.
    3. On the home screen, look for the “Rewards” or “Loyalty Points” section.
    4. Tap to view your total points and see what rewards are available.

The app also allows you to redeem points instantly, buy data bundles, or transfer airtime.

    1. Check Loyalty Points Through SMS

If you prefer text messages, MTN also allows you to check your points balance via SMS.

    1. Open your messaging app.
    2. Type the word POINTS and send it to 136 (or the designated MTN Rewards number in your country).
    3. You’ll receive a reply message with your total loyalty points balance and expiry date.

This method is especially useful when you don’t have access to mobile data or the MTN app.

    1. Visit the MTN Website

You can also check your loyalty points by logging into your account on the official MTN website.

    1. Go to www.mtn.co.za or your local MTN site.
    2. Click on “My Account” or “MTN Rewards.”
    3. Sign in with your MTN number and password.
    4. Once logged in, you can view your points balance, redemption history, and current offers.

This method gives you a detailed overview of how your points are earned and used.

    1. Contact MTN Customer Care

If you’re unable to check your loyalty points using any of the above methods, you can contact MTN Customer Care for assistance.

    • Dial 135 from your MTN line.
    • Choose the option to speak with a representative.
    • Ask for your loyalty or rewards points balance.

They can help you check your balance, redeem rewards, or fix any issues with your account.

    1. How to Redeem MTN Loyalty Points

Once you know your balance, you can redeem your points for data, airtime, or discounts. To redeem:

    1. Dial 1369# (or *135#, depending on your region).
    2. Select “MTN Rewards.”
    3. Choose “Redeem Points.”
    4. Pick the reward you want, such as data bundles or airtime.

You’ll get a confirmation message once the reward is applied to your account.
