Brianna Monique Danielson known professionally as Brie Garcia or formerly Brie Bella, is an American media personality, entrepreneur, and retired professional wrestler.

Raised on a family farm in Scottsdale, Arizona, alongside her identical twin sister, she grew up in a Mexican-Italian household with parents Jon Garcia and Kathy Colace, fostering a strong sense of family and resilience from an early age.

The sisters, who share an unbreakable bond often described as thicker than water, have navigated life’s highs and lows together, from childhood sports like soccer to global fame in entertainment.

Brie, 16 minutes younger than her twin, embodies a blend of athletic prowess and entrepreneurial spirit, having transitioned from the high-stakes world of professional wrestling to ventures in wine production, reality television, and podcasting.

Now residing in Napa Valley with her husband, retired wrestler Bryan Danielson, and their two children, daughter Birdie and son Buddy, Brie has rebranded to her maiden name Garcia as part of a new chapter.

    Siblings

Brie has two siblings, JJ Garcia and an identical twin sister, Nikki Garcia, born Stephanie Nicole Garcia-Colace just 16 minutes earlier on the same day in 1983.

The Garcia twins, as they now professionally identify, share not only striking physical similarities but also an intertwined life story marked by mutual support through triumphs and trials.

Growing up on their parents’ farm in Arizona, the sisters were inseparable, caring for animals and playing competitive soccer, which honed their teamwork and determination.

Nikki, a former WWE Divas Champion in her own right, has been Brie’s constant confidante, especially during personal challenges like Nikki’s high-profile divorce from dancer Artem Chigvintsev in 2024, where Brie provided unwavering emotional backing.

Beyond Nikki, Brie maintains close ties with their parents, crediting the family’s Italian-Mexican heritage for instilling values of hard work and loyalty.

    Career

Garcia’s career began in earnest in 2007 when she and Nikki signed developmental contracts with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), debuting as The Bella Twins in Florida Championship Wrestling, where they honed their in-ring skills through tag-team matches and bikini contests.

Brie made her main roster debut on SmackDown in August 2008, quickly employing “Twin Magic”—surreptitiously switching places with Nikki during matches—to secure victories against opponents like Victoria, captivating audiences with their synchronized deception.

Over the next decade, the sisters navigated WWE’s brands, from SmackDown to Raw and ECW, engaging in high-profile storylines involving flirtations with wrestlers like John Morrison and The Miz, and rivalries with figures such as AJ Lee and Natalya.

Brie’s individual shine came amid her real-life romance with Bryan Danielson, evolving into on-screen narratives that included defending her independence against authority figures like Stephanie McMahon, culminating in a dramatic SummerSlam 2014 match.

Beyond wrestling, Brie co-starred in E!’s Total Divas starting in 2013, offering an unfiltered look at WWE life, which spawned the spinoff Total Bellas in 2016, chronicling her pregnancy, marriage, and family milestones.

These shows amassed millions of viewers, positioning the twins as pop culture icons.

After sporadic WWE appearances and an official in-ring retirement announcement in March 2019 on Total Bellas, Brie shifted focus to business, launching the fashion line Birdiebee in 2017 and co-founding the wine label Bonita Bonita in 2020 with Nikki, now produced from their Napa Valley home base.

Today, she co-hosts The Nikki & Brie Show on SiriusXM, blending humor, vulnerability, and advice on topics from divorce to self-care, while serving as a WWE ambassador.

    Accolades

In WWE, Garcia captured the WWE Divas Championship once, defeating Eve Torres on April 11, 2011, during a Monday Night Raw episode, holding the title for 70 days in a reign that marked her as the first of the Bella Twins to claim singles gold and solidified her status as a top competitor.

Alongside Nikki, she formed one of the most iconic tag teams in WWE history, earning widespread acclaim for their innovative “Twin Magic” maneuvers and contributions to women’s divisions.

The sisters were jointly honored with the Slammy Award for Diva of the Year in 2013, recognizing their charisma and impact on the Divas era.

Brie’s personal storyline intersections, including her 2014 feud with Stephanie McMahon and mixed-tag matches with husband Bryan Danielson, garnered thunderous fan ovations and elevated women’s storylines.

In 2020, she and Nikki were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2020 in the Groups wing—the first and only set of twins to achieve this distinction—celebrating their role in revolutionizing WWE’s portrayal of female performers.

Beyond wrestling, Brie’s reality TV endeavors on Total Divas and Total Bellas drew record viewership, with the latter earning a People’s Choice Award nomination for their unscripted authenticity.
