At least six suspects were Sunday arrested in a failed house breaking incident in Jokim area, South B, Nairobi.

The suspects included a woman. They have been linked to a series of incidents that have been reported in parts of Westlands, Parklands, South B, South C, Lavington, Kilimani and other Nairobi suburbs.

Police say they have been receiving reports of housebreaking targeting homes whose occupants are away.

This was made able by the guards working at some of the residencies, police say.

The gangs targeted household goods which include electronics, clothes and cash.

They used master keys and other devices in the mission and used a Prado, a Nissan X Trail and a Mazda Demio with fake number plates

On Sunday November 16, 2025, they were trying to break in to a house in Jokim which had nobody at home.
Occupants were out of town and were able to notice the incident through their CCTV remotely that there were people trying to get in.

They called the caretaker of the estate and one of the neighbours who through his connections was able to get to DCI and asked them to respond.

The police arrived as the gang tried to drive off from the house. Security cameras captured how the police car arrived and blocked a black car that the suspects had. They were ordered to leave the car at gunpoint in the drama. Police said one of the suspects had been mentioned adversely in several incidents.

Police said they recovered fake number plates and other assorted equipment the gang has been using in their mission.

The police want those who have fallen victim of the incident to report the same.

“We strongly urge all those who fell victim to the break-ins to ensure they file official complaints with the National Police Service,” said Nairobi police boss George Seda.

He added they have launched investigations into the suspects before they are arraigned.

One of the suspects is of an Indian origin and had been mentioned in many cases after he was captured on security cameras.
