Detectives are investigating an incident where a decomposed body of a woman was found locked in a house in Pipeline area, Nairobi.
Police said locals in Pipeline estate complained of a bad smell from the house which forced them to check the source.
They however found the house locked which forced them to seek the police intervention.
They broke into the house and found the body of an unidentified woman on the floor next to a bed with a manilla string tied around her neck.
The owner of the house, who is a man, was missing. Police said he is known and was last seen carrying a television set and a woofer which he claimed he wanted to send to his rural home on December 30.
Police suspect the body had been at the scene for up to two days before it was discovered on January 2 and taken to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
Police said they are looking for a known suspect for grillig over the murder. The motive of the murder was not known.
And a man succumbed to the injuries of suicide after he had murdered a child in Githunguri, Kiambu County.
He had been rushed to hospital after the January 2 incident. Police said Reuben Njoroge slit and fatally injured his throat. He succumbed to the injuries in the hospital a day later.
The motive of the incident is believed to be a domestic fight.
The bodies are lying in the mortuary pending autopsy and other procedures.
Elsewhere in Nguka, Kirinyaga County, a body of a man was found dead tied to a tree in Mukuyu village, police said.
According to the police, the body was found kneeling with a rope tied around the neck.
The man’s body had injuries and blood stains on his clothes. The motive of the murder was not known and the body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures.
