Police in Ruiru, Kiambu County, are investigating the murder of a 35-year-old man whose body was discovered inside a room at a worksite along Felma Road in Kahawa Sukari.

John Ngila was found lying on the floor of a room used by a watchman and his brother after his brother reported to the site at about 11.22 am and opened the gate before going to collect his work tools.

The mason at the site told police that he found his brother’s lifeless body lying in a supine position on the floor. Police officers visited the scene and documented the body.

Investigators said Ngila had suffered multiple injuries to his face and head, including a deep cut on his cheek.

A blood-stained wooden timber found next to a bed inside the room was recovered and kept as an exhibit after investigators suspected it could have been used in the attack.

The deceased’s brother told police that Ngila had previously been threatened by another watchman, over allegations that he was spying on his employers.

According to the report, the watchman had allegedly threatened Ngila with unspecified consequences if he lost his job because of him.

The threat had reportedly not been reported to police before Ngila’s death.

Detectives are expected to establish whether the reported threats were connected to the killing as they investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Crime scene investigators from Juja processed and documented the scene before the body was moved to the Kenyatta University Hospital Mortuary, where it is being preserved pending a postmortem examination.

Police said they had not established the motive of the murder.

A hunt for the suspect in the murder continued on Tuesday.
