A 30-year-old woman was found dead in her house after she had been clobbered to death in a domestic fight in Kerina, Kisii County.

Police said the deceased, identified as Dorcas Kerubo had an altercation with her husband in their house on January 8 when she was fatally hit.

Her body was found lying in a pool of blood with injuries on the head, face and back of her lower limbs when the police visited the scene.

According to the police, the couple’s ten-year-old daughter was concerned her mother was lying in a pool of blood and unresponsive. She told police the woman and her husband had fought and the woman decided to sleep on the floor in the sitting room.

When the daughter woke up in the night she realized she was unresponsive and rushed to her grandmother’s house and informed her of the incident.

By then, the said assailant had escaped the scene, police said. It was then that police were alerted and visited the scene where it was confirmed Kerubo was dead.

The suspect was later traced and arrested in the area on Thursday evening. The police moved the body to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures and the probe goes on.

This is the latest such domestic feud that turns fatal in families amid investigations to solve those so far reported.

Police said the incidents are under probe and they hope to solve them.

Meanwhile, police are investigating an incident where a man was found dead in a lodging in Esageri area, Baringo County.

The deceased was found dead in the room in the Kambimoi area long after the incident. A chemical that he is suspected to have swallowed was found under the pillow, police said. Police and the lodging management said the man had booked the room on January 5 before he died by suicide three days later.

The motive of the incident was not known and the body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
