    Marlon Moreno Solarte is a renowned Colombian actor, producer, and director, born on May 18, 1966, in Cali, Colombia.

    Standing at 6 feet 1 inch tall, he has made a significant mark in the entertainment industry through his versatile performances in television, film, and theater.

    Moreno pursued his passion for acting by studying drama at the Fundación Escuela de Artes y Ciencias in Bogotá, laying the foundation for a prolific career that spans decades.

    He is particularly recognized for his compelling roles in productions like El Capo, where he portrayed Pedro Pablo León Jaramillo, and Her Mother’s Killer, in which he played Guillermo León.

    Beyond acting, Moreno has expanded his talents into production and direction, contributing to various projects that highlight his multifaceted abilities in the Colombian and international entertainment scenes.

    Moreno’s career began in theater in his hometown of Cali, where he honed his skills on stage before transitioning to television and film.

    His initial foray into screen acting came with regional television work, including a role in the soap opera Vidas Robadas on Telepacífico, which marked his entry into broader audiences.

    He made his official acting debut in 1995 as Paco in the telenovela Gente Fresca, setting the stage for a series of notable performances in Colombian productions.

    Moreno gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of Ciro Bernal in Pandillas Guerra y Paz, and he further solidified his status with the long-running role of Pedro Pablo León Jaramillo in El Capo from 2009 to 2014, appearing in over 200 episodes.

    His film career includes standout roles such as Victor Peñaranda in the 2008 thriller Dog Eat Dog, John in the 2016 drama Another Forever, and León in the 2015 film Heart of a Lion, showcasing his range across genres like action, drama, and romance.

    In recent years, Moreno has continued to thrive in television with his ongoing role as Guillermo León in Her Mother’s Killer since 2020, while also venturing into directing short films like Inocencia and Therapia, as highlighted on his social media profiles.

    His body of work extends to other projects such as La Sargento Matacho, Secreto de Confesión, and Handle with Care, reflecting a consistent presence in both Colombian and international cinema.

    Accolades

    Early recognition came with the Best Regional Actor honor at the Simon Bolivar Awards, acknowledging his foundational work in theater and regional television.

    In 2007, he won the Colombian Cinema Award for Best Actor for his performance in Soñar No Cuesta Nada, as well as the Golden India Catalina for Best Supporting Actor.

    The following year, 2008, proved particularly fruitful with victories at the Festival de Cinema de Gramado, where he received the Golden Kikito for Best Actor in the Latin Film Competition for Dog Eat Dog, along with another Golden Kikito for Best Actor and the Mayahuel Award for Best Actor.

    Moreno’s excellence continued into 2010 with the Colombian Television Award for Best Actor for his role in El Capo.

    In 2013, he earned the Silver Colon for Best Actor twice, and in 2016, he received an Award of Merit Special Mention for Supporting Actor.

    More recently, he was honored as Best Lead Actor in a Super Series at the PRODU Awards for La Venganza de Analía 2, further cementing his legacy as one of Colombia’s most acclaimed performers.
