Four siblings clobber brother to death in argument over family cow in Uasin Gishu

An argument over a family cow turned tragic when four siblings beat their brother to death in a Cheplaskei village, Moiben, Uasin Gishu County.

Police said Peter Kiprop, 35 died in hospital on February 19, 2026 after he had been assaulted by his siblings who included three brothers and a sister.

They are also said to have poured hot water on the deceased. He sustained serious injuries before they put him to sleep. They woke up hours later and learnt he was unconscious and rushed him to hospital where he succumbed to the injuries.

The accused assailants escaped the scene and efforts to trace and arrest them were ongoing Friday, police said.

According to the police, the deceased had borrowed a family cow from his mother to start agrovet business. The other brothers and sister disagreed, prompting an argument that went bad.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy, police said adding they were looking for the accused persons.

And a man was found dead on the roadside in Imbiakalo, Kakamega County.

The deceased was identified as David Achienda, 32.

The cause of his death was not immediately known, police said as they moved the body to the mortuary for autopsy.

Locals attacked a man they claimed was last seen with the deceased before he was rescued by police. The mob also burnt down four houses belonging to the family in the drama.

Elsewhere in Kangema, Muranga County, a casual labourer at the Aspendos Dairy Limited died after falling from the second floor of a block.

The management said the incident happened on February 7, 2026 at the production department and involved one Brian Mwangi Nyambura, 21.

He fell from the second floor while in a lift designed to carry boxes of milk in an ultra heat treatment store after it developed a mechanical problem.

He sustained injuries on both hands and both legs, he was rescued by his colleagues and taken to Murang’a Level Five hospital where he was admitted in serious condition and succumbed to the injuries on February 19, 2026.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.

Police officers visited the scene and established the hoist cable of the said lift, which resulted in the fault having already been repaired and it is functional.
