Knowshon Moreno was born on July 16, 1987, in The Bronx, New York City. He later grew up in Middletown Township, where he attended Middletown High School South.
During his high school football career, Moreno led his team to three Central Jersey Group III championships, establishing himself as one of the top high school running backs in the country. Recruiting website Rivals.com ranked him as the No. 10 running back prospect in the nation.
College Football Career
Moreno went on to play college football at the University of Georgia, where he represented the Georgia Bulldogs.
After redshirting his freshman year, he made an impressive debut season. Moreno rushed for 1,334 yards on 248 carries and scored 14 touchdowns, while also contributing 253 receiving yards on 20 receptions.
Entering his sophomore season, Moreno quickly became a Heisman Trophy contender. During the 2008 season, he produced an outstanding performance with 1,792 total offensive yards and 18 touchdowns.
