Byron Maxwell was born on February 23, 1988 in North Charleston. He attended Fort Dorchester High School, where he played football and developed into a talented defensive back.
During his junior season, Maxwell recorded impressive defensive numbers, including:

Despite suffering a torn ACL that forced him to miss his entire senior season, Maxwell still attracted attention from several major college football programs. College Football Career
