    Early Life

Jimin was born Park Ji-min on October 13, 1995, in the Geumjeong District of Busan. He grew up with a younger brother and attended Hodong Elementary School and Yonsan Middle School.

During middle school, Jimin began developing his dance skills at Just Dance Academy, where he learned styles such as popping and locking. He later studied contemporary dance at the Busan High School of Arts. One of his teachers encouraged him to audition for an entertainment company, which eventually led him to Big Hit Entertainment (now Hybe Corporation).

Jimin later transferred to Korean Arts High School and graduated in 2014. He went on to study Broadcasting and Entertainment at Global Cyber University, earning his degree in 2020, and later pursued a Master of Business Administration in Advertising and Media at Hanyang Cyber University.

    Career with BTS

BTS debuted in 2013 with members RM, Suga, J‑Hope, Jin, V, Jungkook, and Jimin.

The group rose to global prominence with albums such as Dark & Wild (2014), Wings (2016), Love Yourself: Tear (2018), Map of the Soul: 7 (2020), and Be (2020).

Their global hit songs include Spring Day, DNA, Fake Love, Idol, and Dynamite.

Jimin has also released solo tracks within BTS albums. His songs Lie, Serendipity, and Filter achieved significant commercial success and accumulated tens of millions of streams on Spotify.

    Solo Career

In March 2023, Jimin released his debut solo studio album Face, which topped album charts in countries including Japan and South Korea and reached the top 10 in more than a dozen markets worldwide.

The album’s lead single Like Crazy made history by reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, making Jimin one of the few Korean solo artists to achieve that milestone. Another track from the album, Set Me Free Pt. 2, also topped the Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart.

He has also released popular non-album singles such as Promise and Christmas Love, and collaborated with Ha Sung-woon on the song With You for the soundtrack of the TV series Our Blues.

    Business Ventures

BTS is one of the highest-earning music acts in the world. In 2019 alone, the group reportedly generated around $170 million in touring revenue, placing them among the top touring acts globally.

Between June 2019 and June 2020, the members of BTS collectively earned about $50 million, averaging roughly $7 million per member.

In 2020, their management company Big Hit Entertainment went public on the Korea Exchange. Before the initial public offering, founder Bang Si-hyuk gifted each BTS member shares in the company, which were valued at around $7.9 million on the first day of trading.

    Philanthropy

Jimin is known for his philanthropic work. He has donated significant amounts to educational and charitable organizations, including the Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education, Jeonnam Future Education Foundation, Rotary International, Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation, and the UNICEF Korean committee.

In 2023, Jimin also set a Guinness World Record for the fastest male K-pop solo artist to reach one billion streams on Spotify, achieving the milestone in just 393 days.

    Real Estate

In 2021, Jimin purchased an apartment for approximately $5.3 million in Nine One Hannam, one of the most prestigious residential complexes in Seoul. The development is often referred to as the “Beverly Hills of Korea” and features luxury amenities including a swimming pool and golf facilities.
