Aaron Judge is an American professional baseball outfielder and captain of the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball.
Born on April 26, 1992, in Sacramento (or nearby Linden), California, he stands 6 feet 7 inches tall and weighs 282 pounds.
Judge bats and throws right-handed.
Known for his towering home runs, elite plate discipline, and leadership, he has emerged as one of the most dominant power hitters and complete players in the game.
Adopted the day after his birth by teachers Patty and Wayne Judge, he grew up in Linden, California, and was drafted by the Yankees in the first round (32nd overall) out of Fresno State in 2013.
He made his MLB debut in 2016 and has spent his entire career with New York, signing a landmark nine-year, $360 million extension in 2022 that runs through 2031.
Siblings
Aaron has one older brother, John Judge, who was also adopted by Patty and Wayne Judge.
John, born around 1985, grew up alongside Aaron in California and has pursued a career in education, including teaching English abroad in South Korea at one point.
While Aaron rose to baseball stardom, John has maintained a lower public profile, and the family has often spoken of their pride in both sons’ paths.

After being selected by the Yankees in 2013, he progressed through the minor leagues, showcasing immense power and athleticism despite his large frame.
He debuted with New York on August 13, 2016, but truly broke out in 2017, winning the American League Rookie of the Year and the Home Run Derby while leading the AL in home runs with 52.
Judge has anchored the Yankees’ lineup for nearly a decade, overcoming occasional injury setbacks to deliver consistent elite production.
He set the American League single-season home run record with 62 in 2022, a campaign that also earned him his first AL MVP award.
His combination of power, on-base skills, and defensive ability in right field (and occasional center) has made him a perennial MVP candidate.
As team captain since 2022, he has led by example through his work ethic and clubhouse presence.
Through early 2026, he has played primarily for the Yankees, contributing to multiple playoff runs while establishing himself as the face of the franchise.
As of early April 2026, Judge has accumulated a career batting average of .293 with 370 home runs, 833 RBIs, 875 runs scored, and 65 stolen bases over 1,150 games and more than 4,100 at-bats.

In 2025, he posted a .331 average with 53 home runs and won the AL batting title along with his third MVP.
The 2026 season has started slowly in limited action, but his track record underscores his status as one of baseball’s premier sluggers.

Judge is a seven-time MLB All-Star (2017, 2018, 2021–2025) and has won three AL MVP awards (2022, 2024, 2025).
