    Man killed in attack by three men in Limuru

    A man was found dead after he had been stabbed and his body set on fire by three suspected assailants in Limuru area, Kiambu County.

    The motive of the Sunday April 5 morning incident in the Kinyogori area was not immediately known.

    The body of the victim was found on the roadside long after his murder.

    Police cited witnesses and said the victim was seen earlier being attacked by three persons, two armed with a sword and an axe near Champions of Christ Church and frog matched towards Kinyogori Road.

    The body was partly burnt on the torso with deep cuts on the head and arms and was removed to the mortuary awaiting identification and postmortem.

    Police said they were investigating murder in the incident.

    In Kasarani area, a suspected thief was lynched by a mob in a failed robbery. The suspect was on a motorbike when he was attacked by the mob and killed. The motorcycle was vandalized in the drama. An accomplice managed to escape the drama.

    The body was moved to the mortuary pending an identification and autopsy after the April 5 dawn incident.

    Mob lynching incidents have been on the rise amid efforts to address the menace.

    Elsewhere in Kenol area, Muranga County, a man was found dead in a shallow stream after a suspected murder.

    Police said the body of the man was found on Saturday night.

    A team that responded to the scene found a lifeless body with no physical visible injuries of an unknown male adult aged about 26 lying in a shallow stream with his face submerged in the water.

    The body was moved to the mortuary pending identification and autopsy.

    In Sagana area, Kirinyaga County, a man died after jumping into Kanyiri River in an attempt to rescue a drowning calf.

    The calf was among the herd of cattle he was grazing.

    Police said it slipped into the river before it swam back to the riverbank leaving Lekishan Kererwa, 28 who had jumped in there to rescue it.

    He drowned before the body was retrieved and moved to the mortuary.
