His younger brother, Josh Dickinson, born about two and a half years after Jason, followed a similar path into professional hockey.

Josh signed an entry-level contract with the Colorado Avalanche in 2018 and has played in various leagues, including the AHL and overseas.

He played four seasons with the Storm, recording strong offensive numbers and serving as a leader, including time as captain.

He earned recognition as a member of the OHL Second All-Rookie Team and participated in the CHL Top Prospects Game.

Internationally, he helped Canada win gold at the 2013 IIHF World U18 Championships.

After being drafted by Dallas, Dickinson made his professional debut with the Texas Stars in the American Hockey League.

He became a full-time NHL regular during the 2018-19 campaign, posting 22 points in 67 games.

Over several seasons with Dallas, he developed into a dependable shutdown forward and penalty-killer, contributing to the team’s deep playoff runs, including a trip to the 2020 Stanley Cup Final.

In 2021, Dickinson was traded to the Vancouver Canucks, where he played one season before signing with the Chicago Blackhawks as a free agent.

In Chicago, he took on increased responsibilities, including alternate captain duties, and enjoyed some of his most productive offensive seasons, such as a 35-point campaign in 2023-24.
