The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) announced the death of one of its students, Ann Odhiambo Adhiambo, whose body was discovered within the Nairobi Campus on July 7, 2026.

Mystery surrounds her death amid murder investigations. Police believe she was killed as her body had injuries.

The student died as a result of multiple internal injuries, an autopsy established.

Her body was found lying on the floor of Kenyatta hostel room at around 11pm in a matter that was escalated to police.

The exercise was conducted at the Nairobi Funeral Home on Friday established that her body had black marks around the tongue.

The autopsy report pointed out that she may have succumbed owing to lack of oxygen.

The findings also revealed that she had bite marks around her belly and blood drops in the nose pointing that she may have been assaulted.

It was reported that before the body was discovered, Adhiambo had been caught up in a heated exchange with some students over her missing trouser.

Her relatives who attended the postmortem exercise appealed to police to move with speed and bring the suspects to book.

“We want to know what happened for justice,” a relative said.

In a statement, KMTC Chief Executive Officer Dr. Kelly Oluoch said the deceased was pursuing a Higher Diploma in Clinical Medicine after joining the institution in September 2024.

The college said the incident has been reported to the relevant security agencies, which have launched investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding her death.

KMTC management said it is cooperating fully with investigators as inquiries continue.

Dr. Oluoch conveyed the institution’s condolences to the bereaved family, fellow students, staff, and friends, describing the loss as deeply painful.

“The College stands with the family in grief and will continue to offer the necessary support during this difficult period,” he said.

Police have since recorded statements from several students at the college.
