Siblings
Denzel is one of four children in his family.
He has an older sister named Demelza, a younger sister named Daniëlle, and a younger brother named Donovan.
The siblings grew up together under the care of their parents, Boris Dumfries, who is of Aruban origin and worked in care management, and Marleen Dumfries, who has Surinamese roots and a background in education and youth care.
The younger brother Donovan shared Denzel’s early interest in football, and the family has spoken openly about how Donovan needed additional support and love during his development.
Demelza has been actively involved alongside their mother in the family’s initiative DUCE (Dumfries Unlimited Care & Education), which provides specialist care, guidance, and opportunities for at-risk youth in Rotterdam.
