Rainfall is expected in several parts of Kenya over the next seven days, with the Coast, Northeastern, Western, Central and parts of the Rift Valley regions likely to receive the highest amounts.
According to the Kenya Meteorological Department, the forecast covers the period from September 22 to 28, 2026.
Counties expected to experience rainfall include Kwale, Mombasa, Kilifi, Tana River, Lamu, Garissa, Mandera, Wajir, Marsabit, Murang’a, Nairobi, Nyandarua, Nyeri, Tharaka-Nithi, Kitui, Makueni, Narok, Baringo and Bomet.
Other areas expected to receive rainfall are Bungoma, Busia, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Homa Bay, Kakamega, Kericho, Kisii, Kisumu, Migori, Nakuru, Nandi, Nyamira, Siaya, Trans Nzoia, Uasin Gishu and Vihiga, among other localised areas.
The weather outlook also points to significant temperature variations across the country during the forecast period.
Daytime maximum average temperatures of more than 30°C are expected in parts of Kilifi, Tana River, Lamu, Garissa, Wajir, Isiolo, Marsabit and Turkana counties.
At night, minimum average temperatures of less than 10°C are expected in some areas of Meru, Tharaka-Nithi, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Nyeri, Nakuru, Narok, Taita-Taveta and Kajiado counties.
