    Mexican female boxer Yamileth Mercado left Nairobi “dissatisfied” following “unjust decision” of the judges that denied her victory against Fatuma Zarika Saturday.

    Zarika won the bout on split-point decision to defend her WBC Super Bantam Championship at the KICC and hand Mercardo her second professional loss.

    Judge Eddie Papoe of Ghana gave Mercardo 96-94 while Bena Kaloki of Kenya and Malawi’s Francis Chirwa warded Zarika 97-93 and 99-91 respectively in the ten-round fight.

    The decision was a bitter pill to swallow for the Mexican who left the ring without giving an interview but, on Monday she tweeted away her feelings;

    “I say goodbye to Nairobi, I am dissatisfied with the judges, but happy with the work I did,” she said.

    I say goodbye to Nairobi, I am dissatisfied with the decision of the judges, but happy with the work I do, grateful to the beautiful people of Kenya who acknowledged the triumph and infinitely grateful and happy with my people from Mexico, thanks for so much support! Mercardo also thanked the “beautiful” people of Kenya who “acknowledged” her “triumph.”

    Thank you Kenya, I'm going sad for that unjust decision of the judges, but very grateful and enchanted by its people, it was a beautiful stay❤ pic.twitter.com/LiRdLcpCi9
