Nyeri town Member of Parliament candidate on a Jubilee party ticket, Ngunjiri Wambugu was over the weekend caught up in what seemed to be a love triangle.
The Jubilee candidate denied allegations of being intimately involved with his personal assistant, Julia Wanjiku Kamau.
Julia was apparently involved in a fist fight with an unidentified woman at the White Rhino Hotel. Ngunjiri is said to have called for Julia’s arrest, claims that he has since denied.
”The two ladies know each other and we were with them in a club. Wanjiku, though she took away the other woman’s bag, later voluntarily returned it with all the contents said to have been stolen,” said Raila’s former aide in a statement.
Wambugu also stated that he was a married man with three children and would never be involved in a love triangle.
”I have been married for 17 years and a father of three. Anybody trying to implicate me in a love triangle should bring forth evidence,” he continued.
Julia was arraigned in court on Tuesday and charged with stealing items worth Ksh. 115, 000. She however denied the charges and was released on a cash bail of Ksh. 50,000 which Ngunjiri settled.
The case will be mentioned on July 19.
