    The late Apple CEO, Steve Jobs, was on Saturday honoured with a Grammy Trustees Award for his contributions to the music industry. Jobs was honoured for helping to develop the iPod and revolutionising how music is consumed through the iTunes Store.

    The Grammy Trustees Award is awarded to “individuals who, during their careers in music, have made significant contributions, other than performance, to the field of recording,” according to Wikipedia.

    Steve Jobs award was accepted by Apple’s Senior Vice President of Internet Software and Services, Eddy Cue.

    Accepting the award, Eddy Cue said;

    “Accepting this award means so much to me because music meant so much to him. He told us that music shaped his life. It made him who he was. Everyone who knows Steve knows the profound impact that artists like Bob Dylan and the Beatles had on him.”

    Apple as a company wond a technical Grammy in 2002. The 54th Grammy Ceremony specifically recognised Steve Jobs as a person. Others awarded the Trustees Awards together with Jobs include band leader Dave Bartholomew and jazz engineer Rudy Van Gelder.
