East Africa’s leading pay TV provider, Zuku has announced that it is gearing to expand its triple-play network after securing Ksh220 million in new investment.

The upgrade which is scheduled for completion by the end of October has seen the laying of the ground for the provider to offer speeds of up to 50Mbps on the TV, Internet and VOIP service for customers in Nairobi.

Zuku is currently offering only speeds of upto 20Mbps on the platform while providers like Safaricom are expanding their services now with the recent launch of the Vuma@Home service in Nyayo Embakassi.

Apart from the Triple-Play (TV, Phone and Internet service on one package) service, Zuku also offers the satelitte TV which starts at Ksh 799 per month and is available throughout the country.

According to Communications Authority of Kenya (formerly CCK) latest quarterly report, Zuku increased its market share in the Fixed/ Wireless Internet Subscriptions market by 1.7 percent to 44.7 percent.
